Teens' Hub
Idle hands are the devil's workshop; idle lips are his mouthpiece. The antidote is
the TEENS' HUB at HoD.
In the midst of concerns about rising rates of risky behaviors among high schoolers during the school holidays, our church has taken a proactive step to make a difference. We are thrilled to introduce our new program, "TEENS HUB," which offers a haven for high school students to thrive academically and enjoy recreational activities in a nurturing environment.
The statistics are sobering, with many teenagers engaging in drugs, alcohol, and early sexual activity, contributing to a concerning increase in teen pregnancies and new HIV cases in Kenya. Recognizing the urgency of addressing these issues, we initiated "TEENS HUB" to provide an alternative and constructive holiday experience.
In just two short weeks, our program has already made a significant impact. Over fifty high schoolers gather at our church daily to participate in this initiative. The core of "TEENS HUB" is a safe space for these teens to focus on their schoolwork, ensuring they stay on track with their education while also enjoying recreational activities in the afternoons.
What sets "TEENS HUB" apart is our dedicated team of counselors and high school teachers who work closely with the teenagers. They provide guidance, support, and mentorship to empower these young individuals and help them navigate the challenges they face. This program not only offers a positive environment but also fosters a sense of belonging and purpose for our high school participants.
We believe that by creating "TEENS HUB," we are taking a significant step in supporting our young people during their school holidays and offering them a meaningful and safe alternative. Our mission is clear: to empower and uplift the next generation, giving them the tools they need to make informed choices and create a brighter future. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these teens, and we are excited to see the positive impact "TEENS HUB" will have in the days to come.
