Through the outreach programme I received help and hope when I needed it most.
My House of Destiny Testimony — Wanjiku Muriuki. At the beginning of this year, I made a prayer that I wanted to be around community — healthy community — because I realized how guarded I had been and how much I had isolated myself from people. I can say I officially joined House of Destiny — like I made up my mind — on a Youth Connect. The topic that day was on mental health, something I am very passionate about. What happened on that day, I had not felt in a very long time. I felt a breath of fresh air, a sense of relief and healing. It was such an amazing thing to be around people, around community, around church community, around other youths. Being in the House of Destiny has been instrumental in my healing. I was also looking forward to being in a place where I could offer the things I already loved to do, and this church has just been that! I was looking to be in a church where faith and structure converged. Balance. The other day I realized — I am in the House of Destiny. At first it was just a name, but now it is actually a prophecy over my life.
God of Another Chance: My Voice Is Restored "Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then shall the lame leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy." — Isaiah 35:5–6 It has been almost six months since my thyroidectomy surgery—a procedure that left me unable to speak. During that time, I couldn't make phone calls. I could only communicate through whispers or text messages. It was a difficult and emotional journey, often marked by frustration and miscommunication because many people could barely understand what I was trying to say. Yet, through it all, I held on to God's promises. This week, the God of another chance remembered me. He has restored my voice! Today, I can comfortably make phone calls, speak clearly, and express myself without fear or hesitation. What once felt impossible has become my testimony. The promise of Isaiah 35:5–6 has become a reality in my life: "The tongue of the mute [shall] sing for joy." I give all the glory to God for His faithfulness and mercy. If you are waiting on God for your own breakthrough, don't lose hope. No matter how long the journey has been, He is still the God who restores. He did it for me, and He can do it for you too.
